It was a little hot so we splashed some water on Cash's head and gave him a mohawk. I don't think he really likes me messing with his hair!

Into the Wild
Last weekend we went to the Tyler Zoo with Brianne and her family and Granny and Pops. It was really fun except for the hot and seriously muggy weather - dang Texas! - and the 2 hour drive there. It was worth it though. The kids had so much fun seeing the animals, feeding the birds, eating snow cones, and petting the goats. Ew. Ryley kept saying, "I wanna see the snakes." He really didn't care about anything else. He was only there for the snakes. Granny didn't like that portion too well, but at least it was in an air conditioned building! It was a really nice zoo - it reminded me a lot of the Ft. Worth zoo, only smaller, which is a very good thing! The African animal part was the best because you could get really close to the giraffes. I've never seen a giraffe so close up before. There was even a cute little (well, not really little) baby giraffe. They what they called a petting zoo at the end, which is really a goat-petting pen. Ben thought it was the greatest thing ever. My kids - not so much. What a bunch of chickens. They did go in the pen but neither of them would pet the goats until they found out there were these combs you could put on your hands to pet them with. But even then they were very timid about getting so close to them. It was a good trip - once last adventure for Brianne before the next animal arrives at their zoo!
Goat chasing fun!
