We got up early and got on the road headed to Petaluma, California, which is about 45 minutes north of San Francisco. We got in around 2 pm and had to drive across the Richmond San Rafael Bridge which cost us a pretty penny ($20) since we had more than two axles with the RV in tow. It’s only one mile long too so that made Daddy super happy.
We got in to the KOA and got out of the van where Maddie promptly got stung by a bee or a wasp or something. She started screaming and crying and we never did find out what got her. I didn’t have a lot of stuff to treat her with but I did have my oils so she got a little bit of everything that might help. She was in some pain for about 30 minutes but then she was good to go. We got everything set up and decided to hit up San Francisco while we still had daylight. The weather was so refreshing after being in super dry and hot Fresno for the past three days. We took the Golden Gate bridge to get into San Fran, which cost another toll, but at least we only had the two axles.
We managed to find our way to Golden Gate Park and got the kids out to play. Such a fun place!
We had to break out the jackets. So awesome!
There was a concrete slide at the park and the big kids were desperate to try it out.
Can you spot the children trying to make me faint?
These little spinning chairs were a big hit with the littles. Especially when Daddy would spin them.
Someone always poops.
You don’t see parks like this in Texas.
The walk back to the car was a little precarious with a busy street on the other side.
We drove around San Francisco for a little bit making our way over to the Pier for dinner.
Definitely got colder as the sun went down and the closer we got to the ocean.
Josh got some seafood, the kids had some corn dogs, and I got a sourdough bread bowl full of soup. I win.
After walking around on the Pier for a while and freezing our hineys off we made our way back to the RV. It started raining on us a little as we went back over the Bridge.
It was a quick trip to San Francisco but it was jam-packed and lots of fun!
